DJ Wolfy

Mikey Newson, better known by his DJ name DJ Wolfy, is a proud Chicago native whose deep love and respect for House Music runs through every beat he plays. Recently, Wolfy electrified the dance floor at the legendary Smartbar party Queen! where he opened for Derrick Carter and Michael Serafini. His crowd-pleasing mashup of Beyoncé's “100% Pure Love” and Crystal Waters’ iconic track sent waves of energy through the venue. Wolfy’s mixes have also graced the airwaves, featured on WNUR and Haus of LSD Radio Chicago.

As a Chicagoan, Wolfy feels an unbreakable bond to the city’s rich House Music legacy. One of the most surreal moments of his career came when he worked on a short-term project for the Frankie Knuckles Foundation. There, Wolfy had the rare privilege of helping to digitize the legendary Frankie Knuckles’ 5,000+ record vinyl collection—a sacred treasure trove of House Music history. “It was an eerie feeling, as if he was there. You could feel a presence in there…There was magic,” Wolfy recalled of the experience.

Wolfy’s approach to DJing is grounded in positivity and selflessness. For him, it’s never about the spotlight—it’s about creating a space where people can escape, feel good, and lose themselves in the music. “When I play an event, it's not about me,” Wolfy explains. “I want folks on the dance floor feeling good, smiling, laughing, and escaping the outside world.” His mission is clear: to make the dance floor a place of pure joy, connection, and freedom.
